There’s a heaviness in the air lately.
With all that’s unfolding in our country—the uncertainty, the fear, the ache of watching things unravel—it can be easy to feel like we’re wilting. Like we’re being pulled in every direction, emotionally, spiritually, even energetically. And yet, here we are. Still standing. Still breathing. Still showing up for our lives.
This month, as the earth around us begins to bloom, I’ve been reflecting on what it means to blossom in the midst of it all. Not in some glossy, spiritual-bypass kind of way—but in the quiet, courageous way that says: I’m still here. I’m still rooted. I’m still growing.
A Moment That Stuck With Me
Just a few days ago, I stood outside and watched a tulip unfold itself toward the sun. It had rained the night before. The petals were still heavy with water. And yet, it opened anyway.
And I thought: That’s us.
We are carrying so much—grief, rage, fatigue, uncertainty. And still, something inside us leans toward the light. Not because everything is okay, but because it’s the nature of the soul to reach for wholeness.
Our Practices Help Us Grow Through It
Meditation.
Mindful breath.
Loving-kindness.
Rest.
Even placing one hand on your heart when the news feels like too much.
These are not luxuries. They are lifelines. They tether us to presence when the world feels chaotic. They help us soften around our pain instead of hardening. And they remind us—over and over again—that our wholeness is not lost in the wreckage. It’s still here. Waiting. Rooted beneath the surface.
Blossoming Isn’t a Performance—It’s a Return
So this month, if you feel tired… tender… uncertain… you are not doing it wrong.
You are simply human in a deeply broken world.
Let this be a time to come home to yourself—not with urgency, but with reverence.
Let yourself open slowly.
Let yourself feel.
Let yourself rest.
Let yourself be.
And if you can, let your practices meet you in the mess. Not to make you perfect, but to keep you grounded, honest, and whole.
With you always,
💜 Deb
