Where Strength Begins

There’s a quiet kind of strength that doesn’t roar. It doesn’t demand attention. It doesn’t prove itself.
It simply exists—rooted, calm, and unmistakably alive.

This month, I’ve been reflecting on how often we seek clarity, resilience, or radiance by reaching outward—grasping for inspiration, productivity, or the next thing that will make us feel better. But what if the very thing we’re looking for isn’t out there at all?

In my own practice—and in the sessions I hold for others—I keep returning to this truth: strength begins in stillness. Radiance rises from roots. We don’t cultivate resilience by powering through. We do it by pausing. By grounding. By listening inward. Again and again.

July’s theme, Rooted & Resilient, came not just from the seasonal energy of high summer, but from the deep need so many of us have right now: to feel solid and supported, even as the world shifts around us. And alongside that, the idea of Inner Radiance reminds us that once we’re anchored, the light within us has room to expand.

This isn’t about being perfectly grounded or glowing with positivity all the time. It’s about remembering that both are already within you. Stillness isn’t an escape—it’s a return. And your light? It doesn’t need to be earned. It simply needs to be uncovered.

Wherever you are today, take a breath. Feel your feet on the floor. Notice what’s present without needing to fix it. That moment of awareness is the beginning of everything.

Here’s a meditation from this morning’s class that you can enjoy.
